Monique Katyanna was the creative director and founder of M.Katyanna fashion brand and showroom. The company began in the year of 2003 in Sao Paulo, Brazil and initially exported Brazilian accessory designers to the U.S market. By 2004 M.Katyana made its debut in Manhattan and soon there after opened a wholesale showroom on 5th Avenue. M.Katyanna was featured in New York's prestigous ENK Couterie shows, the Atlanta's International gift shows, New York International gift fairs, as well as Accessories the Show in New York and Las Vegas. The brand M.Katyanna expanded into shoes, handbags and jewelry and was distributed to department stores and boutique's across the country. To name a few, Nine West, Nordstrom and Spiegel carried the M.Katyanna brand.
In 2007 she was given the job of planning an overseas wedding for over 750 guests. During this time she was immersed into the event party planning scene in Rio de Janiero and began working with some of the top professionals in the industry. Monique designed the event alongside a fully equiped team and with that discovered her love for event planning and design.
Monique has an associates and a bachelors degree in fashion design and business marketing from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and The American Intercontinental University in London, England. Additionally she studied child psychology in the graduate program at Fairfield University in Connecticut and was a volunteer as a family mentor at Family and Childrens Aid formally known as Danbury Child Advocacy Center for over 2 years as she has a great love for children and helping others in need.
From 2012 to 2013 she relocated to Chicago and was part of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business community, which is well known for being one of the worlds most prestigious Universities. Upon her return to Connecticut, she served on the board of the local Moms Club for two years as membership vice president. She has played an active and social role in her community and has always maintained her love for fashion and design.
